First, we ask the credit bureaus to set free fraud alerts on your behalf and repeat the request every 90 days.
Second, we request that your name be removed from pre-approved credit card and junk mail lists. Statistics show that this is one of the many ways that thieves hijack identities.
 Third, we order credit reports annually on your behalf from the major credit bureaus and have them sent directly to you.
 Fourth, if ever your wallet goes missing, just call us- anytime, anywhere- and a WalletLock™ specialist will help you contact each credit card, bank or document issuing company, cancel your affected accounts and complete the paperwork and steps necessary to replace your lost documents*, including your credit/debit cards, driver's license, social security card, insurance cards, checkbook - even travelers checks- at no additional cost. What can you do to prevent fraud and protect yourself?
There are a number of ways to minimize your risk and protect yourself:
 Review your credit report annually. A free copy of your credit report is available at www.annualcreditreport.com or by calling 1-877-322-8228.
 Immediately report any and all suspicious card activities to a bank representative.
 Immediately review all account activity on all bank statements when you receive them.
 Do not leave credit card or debit card numbers where they could be obtained by others.
 When ordering items via the internet, ensure that all orders are placed through a secure site and display certification, such as VeriSign™
 Do not leave credit card information in your mailbox with the flag up.
 Utilize Internet Banking regularly to monitor your account activity and quickly detect any fraudulent transactions.
 Shred documents that contain personal information before discarding.
 Do not open or respond to online solicitations for personal information. Northway Bank will never ask customers to send personal information via email.
 Give your Social Security number (SSN) only when absolutely necessary, and ask to use other types of identifiers instead. Ask the following questions before deciding whether to give out your SSN:

Debit Card Replacement Service
If you have misplaced or believe your debit card has been stolen, we can cancel your old card and issue a new card immediately. You can conveniently do this through Internet Banking, our automated telephone banking system, the Customer Support Center or any banking center.
Northway Bank will never ask you to provide personal or confidential information like your social security number, account number, password or personal identification number (PIN) through the internet or e-mail.
