Protecting Your Accounts
Protect your accounts. We know that circumstances can crop up where you might need access to more money than you have available in your checking account. For occasional instances like these, we have two solutions available.
This service allows you to set up an automated transfer between your checking account and another deposit account at Northway Bank. As long as there is a sufficient balance in your linked account, Overdraft Sweep will automatically transfer funds to cover any overdraft transaction in your checking account. Overdraft Sweep adds convenience and peace of mind by automating the transfer process and ensuring that you never forget to transfer the right amount.
Reserve Credit is a line of credit for the purpose of protecting against overdrafts. Ask your local branch or call us at 800-442-6666 and ask for Customer Service to inquire about how to apply for a Reserve Credit line of credit. Subject to credit approval.
• Overdraft Sweep Fee: $7.00 sweep fee per transfer.*
• Reserve Credit: There is no fee for using your line of credit. The only cost will be interest owed based on outstanding balances.
*There is no fee for TrueNorth Relationship Checking Account customers.
Opt-In for ATM or Debit Card Overdrafts
It is always best to avoid overdrawing your account, but sometimes it is better to pay than have your check or other payments returned.
Please be aware that Overdraft Protection does not automatically include everyday debit card purchases and ATM withdrawals on personal accounts. If you would like to have Overdraft Protection on your ATM withdrawals and everyday debit card transactions, you will need to opt-in to the service by filling out an A-9 consent form (for personal accounts only). The form is available when you open an account, at any branch, or you can request one be mailed to you. You have the option to revoke your consent at any time.
